Could we be experiencing the fall of bro-country? Could this be it? Could it finally be over? It sure seems like it's damn close. First we had Maddie & Tae's fabulous debut single "Girl In a Country Song" and now we have the boys of Florida Georgia Line recording a non-bro song. How'd they do? They did fantastic. |
"Dirt" is a song about how dirt has a large effect on our lives, no matter how small it may seem at the time, and how we all return to "Dirt" at the end. Kudos to Joey Moi for more or less restraining the production (though it does get a bit loud during the chorus) and throwing in a steel guitar. I appreciate steel guitar. In addition, I appreciate the use of Brian Kelley. I don't have an issue with Tyler Hubbard's voice the way many do, but I do prefer BK's so it's nice to here him get a chance to shine.
Overall this is FGL's best effort yet. It's a pleasant surprise and one of the better singles of the year thus far.
