Oh look. Another party song by another new male artist about how bad-ass his parties are. What a novel concept! Seriously, did Olsen not get the memo that bro-country is dead? That it's not cool anymore to release lame party anthems built that exist for the sole reason of filling space on party playlists and be forgotten shortly thereafter? Apparently so, because "Raised By a Good Time" is basically a retread of "Bottoms Up", "Ready Set Roll", and countless other forgettable bro-country hits.
However, I will give Olsen and his team this: the production provides a moody, atmospheric intensity to the record, making it passable at the very least. But it still doesn't bring it anywhere close to download worthy, nor will it be remembered even a few months from now.
Olsen's a native of Canada, so I definitely want him to succeed. I just don't want to happen with something as interchangeable as this.
