After Hayes' first career number one hit "Wanted", I was expecting something slower as his 3rd single. Wrong.
The new single from the CMA new artist of the year is an upbeat feeling, Michael Bublé style song, despite what the title leads us to think.
The lyrics are clever and well written (think Chris Cagle's "What Kinda Gone").
Though Hayes may not be the most gifted vocalist, he's able to enject a certain enthusiasm to it, a bit like he did with "Storm Warning".
Maybe it's just because country radio is overplaying "Wanted" , but I think I prefer this to "Wanted".
This shows us why Hayes was named CMA new artist of the year. Well done.
