The show Nashville has been surprisingly good at churning out new music since it's premiere and as it is about to return to air the shows first proper single continues to climb the charts. In what seems to be a comical reality, it turns out that the country-pop starlet without cred on the show actually has a surprisingly country sounding track. It definitely lies on the country-pop side of the genre regardless.
The song has a relatively good hook and groovehat makes it quite enjoyable to listen. Although it shares the campy nature of Laura Bell Bundy's "Giddy on Up" from 2010, that is not a bad thing considering how fun of a single that was. With that said, it does have it's shortcomings, the production has tendency to overwhelm Hayden during the chorus and could definitely benefit from a more powerful vocal performance.
Overall, this track is promising for the potential it says about what the show may produce, putting out a song that is both accusing but self aware for first single is sweet, and if Hayden learns to get smoother production or how to use her voice better she could produce some real gold.
